Cavett understands that each person is unique and likes to incorporate positive principles and practices to help clients focus on solutions rather than problems. Utilizing a solution focused approach to therapy he believes that big changes can happen through accomplishing small, achievable goals. Although he enjoys working with individuals, it is in his couples and family work that he has experienced significant change that impacts their lives and those around them for the better.

Cavett served over 20 years in the Army Reserves, Enlisted and Officer Airborne. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Management from Columbia College and a Masters degree in Human Services from Amridge University. It is also through Amridge University that he decided to seek a Masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. Cavett feels especially drawn to working with veterans and military families, Asian and Pacific Islanders, mixed-race couples, blended families, and single parents.

Cavett has experienced the miracles that happen with the right therapy. He believes in a systems-oriented approach that helps clients examine all of the contributing factors to their challenges, and learn how to best overcome them.

Cavett has been married for over 20 years and has 5 sons. He is a native to Utah, but has lived and/or traveled to other states and more than a dozen foreign countries. He is an avid gardener and a published photo journalist. His family has a goal to retire to a hobby farm.
