Matthew Bartlett

M.Ed., LMFT

I was introduced to the field of Marriage and Family Therapy after being newly married and immediately connected to their core philosophies.  I have found a profession that not only honors people as people but also sees them as the solution and not the problem.

I started working with clients in 2003 after graduating with a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Oregon.  It has been my privilege to work with individuals, couples, families, groups and small businesses. I have seen the power of therapy in residential treatment centers, private practice, and home-based services.  I have had the opportunity to work with many clients across the nation and internationally.

It is through these experiences that I have become an expert in working with at-risk teens and young adults dealing with issues of anxiety, depression, adoption/attachment, addiction, school refusal, self-harm, suicidality, oppositional behavior, transitions to college, and failure to launch.  I also specialize in working with couples struggling with marital conflict, divorce, spiritual discord, blended families, and the stress surrounding infertility treatment.

I enjoy walking alongside my clients and creating a safe place to expand what is comfortable and known without pushing to a place of panic or self-sabotage.  This is the area of growth that can only occur through a trusting relationship.

Please contact me if I can be of assistance to you, your marriage, your family, or to anyone in the community.
